This section contains current and archived bible studies. The text and notes provided are simply those taken and provided by the webmaster and other uses of this site. They are in no way expected to be the authority on scripture interpretation - simply the way the God's word hit one man during the time the study was undertaken. Please feel free to use this as a resource into the insight of the text that's being investigated. The study notes will take the following form: S - Scripture. The text is provided in NIV translation. We as students of God's word must remember that the study starts at the divinely inspired scripture. Working outside the scripture with the use of dictionaries, historic cultural references, and other texts only magnifies the understanding of God's word. O - Observation. This part of the notes is dedicated to the students observation of the text. What strikes the student at a particular time and in a particular way are influences of the Holy Spirit. For this reason, the observation of text is typically different from one student to another and over time with the same student. A - Application. The student is asked to examine the observations of the scripture to understand how it applies in the students particular situation or in reference to specific experiences. The practical application of text is impactive to different people for different reasons. However, the student is asked to try to understand and elaborate on the universal truths and general circumstances to better describe God's word to others. P - Prayer. During this type of study, we should continually commune with God regarding the study; asking for guidance during the study and direction in applying to our own lives. For the purposes of the notes provide on this site, this section is left blank for you to fill in during your own work. SOAP!
